La Siesta

At the hottest hours of the day, everything goes still. Shutters close, light slowly travels across the walls, the air thickens, and time seems to stop. Luis Barragán called this state ocio and said it is humanity's greatest contribution to culture. La Siesta was born from the art of living through time without trying to make it useful. A few pages   of a book, a chair moved into the shade, the slow shift of afternoon light, one more glass of wine, one more story.
